REPORT FROM THE PATHFINDER TEAM: NIGERIA by DAN YORK
I arrived in Nigeria on September 4th and began to hold sessions on Leadership and the need for Reproduction.
The next day we held a lesson on prayer and were joined at 6:00AM by 300 people for a 45 minute prayer walk. Two days later, Chuwang prayed and annointed David Joel to lead this ministry and keep it ongoing in the area.
Over the next few days, I continued my messages on Spiritual reproduction and the need for strong leaders.
On Sunday, September 7th the rest of the team arrived and we ministered in four different churches. Wakawa expressed the desire to join First Cause as a Key Trainer to take the baton from Ron York. Chris Govekar shared a message on the need for simplicity and focus among leaders.
On Monday (Sept 8th) our team met with the Chief Police Constable for JOS. T.K. Moffett presented him a two-star General coin adn the Constable presented him with a plaque. About 50 policemen and women assembled to hear Moffett’s address on Ethics in Leadership. The Nigerians fervently requested that he see the country’s Inspector General to talk about this key subject due to all the corruption within the police force.
I met with Wmakawa, Chuwang and Lance to discuss their leadership roles with First Cause. After dinner, we met with Governor Jang of the Plateau State and were able to pray with him.
On September 9th the Team met for a second session with the Police. While T.K. shared with them, Dan met with David Joel to talk with him about leading the Prayer Walk Ministry. Funds were discussed and the Nigerian team agreed to assume responsibility for raising funds for ministry so everything is not funded by the U.S. That evening, I spoke at David Joel’s church.
On the 11th, we left for Abuja. After a brief US Embassy visit, our team departed on Lufthansa for our journey home. Our trip was blessed beyond our most optimistic projections as God gifted us with incredible leaders determined to train up leaders committed to replication around the world!
UPCOMING TRIPS: Our Humanitarian Team will be traveling to Malacatan/Independencia, Guatemala on January 10, 2009 to break ground on the Independencia Orphanage Complex. We are working to raise $15,000 for this trip.
